BIM Profile
The Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM) began its journey in 1961 as the "Management Development Centre, East Pakistan" under a tripartite agreement between the Government of Pakistan, the United Nations, and the ILO. In 1970, it was granted autonomous status under the East Pakistan Ordinance of 1961. Since 1966, BIM has introduced various postgraduate diploma programs including Personnel Management, Industrial Management, Marketing, Financial Management, and Computer Science. During the 1970s and 1980s, it became a key training center for both public and private sector professionals. In the 1990s, in response to a liberalized economy and growing demand for skilled professionals, BIM underwent strategic restructuring and launched new programs like the Executive MBA. Today, BIM continues to play a vital role in national development through training, research, and consultancy.
